Caramel Apple Baked Brie






Ingredients:


Phyllo dough (sometimes spelled Filo)

Brie Round

1 egg + a splash of water

1 granny smith apple, peeled and diced

1 Tbs butter

2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup whipping cream

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup toasted pecans


For the Baked Brie. Preheat the oven to 350 and let the Phyllo dough thaw for a few minutes. Meanwhile, make your egg wash (One egg and a little water) and set the Brie round on top of the Phyllo dough sheets. Bring a few sheets around at a time to cover the Brie and secure with a brush of the egg wash. Bake your Brie on cast iron or line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.


For the Caramel Apple Sauce. Peel and dice one granny smith apple and saute with 1/4 cup granulated sugar and 1 Tbls butter. Cook until apples are tender. Add in 2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 cup whipping cream, and 3/4 cup brown sugar. Cook about 5-10 minutes while stirring until sugars are less granulated. Top baked Brie with Caramel Apple Sauce and toasted pecans. Serve with apples, crackers, or toasted baguette slices.
